Turin Castle

When we’re talking about romantic settings, we have to talk about weddings at Turin Castle.

This Angus mansion is a secluded hideaway but as you sweep round the drive, it’s as if you’re arrived in your own private world.

What I love about the place is that it’s just so flexible in what it offers.

Looking for a fairytale winter wedding? Turin will give you roaring fires and frosty gardens.

Or what about a summer wedding with cool drinks on the lawn? It’s got that covered too.

History

Turin Castle was first built in 1659. The original mansion was actually located on the banks of a nearby loch. But in 1907 it was carefully moved, stone by stone, to its current site.

This is a luxury option that caters to your every whim. It merges the warmth and character of Scottish history with the luxurious amenities of modern design.

It’s great for an intimate destination wedding, sleeping up to 20 guests in the most beautiful rooms.

But it’s a vast property so you’ve got plenty of room for a larger ceremony and reception as well, whether in the house or around the picturesque stone circle.

The house sits in 20 acres of sweeping lawns with majestic views of the rolling Scottish countryside.

Wedding stats

If you want to dial up the cosy Scottish feel for the ceremony, you can choose the glass-covered tartan courtyard.

Or there’s a light and airy wedding room, with double height ceilings and wooden beams. You can double its size to fit over 200 guests with an incredible glass marquee.

Or if you want to be outdoors, you have the beautiful stone circle, with your guests seated on the lawn. Or again, there is the exterior courtyard.

This is what I mean about the flexibility. They don’t do “off the peg” weddings at Turin Castle. Every single one is designed to fit the couple and there’s certainly enough to choose from.

Everywhere you look there is something else to discover, whether it’s down the next corridor or around the next tree. Be sure to find the Ogilvy Bar and Games Room.

And the whole place really is exciting to explore, which is all part of the fun in creating the perfect day.

It’s a stunning and unique location which has obviously had a lot of thought – and good taste – put into it.

It has a very Scottish feel and the blend of both traditional and modern works beautifully.

If you want a beautiful wedding day, carefully designed to fit your specific needs and vision, then I’d definitely take a look at Turin Castle.
