Spectacular Wedding at Turin Castle

Wedding at Turin Castle.

Andrea & Jamie, a cracking couple, who chose to have their wedding at Turin Castle, just outside Forfar, after they tied the knot at the Lowson Church in Forfar.

First of all, we rocked up to Andrea’s family farm for a very unusual pre-wedding shoot. I love a pre-wedding shoot!

It was amazing to be able to make use of some cool farm props like hay bales and tractors. And we had a few visitors too!

On the day, both bride and groom got ready at the stunning Turin Castle by Forfar which made for some truly sumptuous shots of the venue & it’s beautiful features. I was also able to get some wonderful shots of the smaller details such as the beautiful bright bouquets & Andrea’s dress, which was a stunning vintage gown with a piece of her gran’s wedding dress sewn into it. What a lovely touch.

It was a really beautiful moment when the couple’s black Labrador brought a message from the groom to his bride. Look at that face as she reads the note! Just perfect.

For the ceremony, it was on to the very beautiful Lowson Church, before returning to the castle for the reception.

We had such good fun taking these group shots!

Both Jamie and Andrea wanted to spend as much time with their guests as possible so for the couple shots we took just a few in the beautiful Rolls Royce and saved the rest for the cracking post-wedding shoot at Glencoe….more on that later!

The cake-cutting was done with Jamie’s family sword – very cool!

The first dance was an absolute hoot, and the ceilidh was off-the-chart crazy with everyone spinning around with such great gusto.

So, back to that post-wedding shoot. What can I say? We drove to Glen Etive, stopping for a couple of WOW shots at Loch Earn – one on the pier and one on the shore. The narrow road to Glen Etive made for some gorgeous photos, then onto Buachaille Etive Mor and the waterfall for something really special.

Check out the very cool smoky water on the rocks.

It was a leap of faith for them to step into the waterfall and I love them for doing it. And, well, that shot of Andrea getting into the water in her wedding gown is a truly amazing photo and one that her family will talk about for years to come.

I love it when clients see my vision and are willing to just go for it & do something that they will look back on with so much fondness, so thank you, guys.

Weddings at Turin Castle don’t get much more colourful & fun-filled than this, a great day all round.
