Weddings at the Old Course Hotel are always lovely. The stunning setting and exquisite scenery make it a magnificent location for any wedding. But on Kim and Sandy’s special day, the couple went that extra mile to make sure that their wedding stood out from the crowd and would be a day to be remember. Their marriage took place on a bright and sunny winter’s day, creating a beautiful backdrop for their celebration. With the groomsmen dressed in suits acquired and customised using the last remaining material from the Ryder Cup and the Bride wearing a spectacular dress worthy of any princess, it was clear that this wedding was going to be both quirky and stylish. The ceremony was held in the conservatory of the Old Course Hotel, and the couple made sure that the service reflected their personalities as well as their love for each other.
Their new found status as Mr & Mrs Webster was celebrated immediately with fireworks and glitter bombs, much to the delight of their guests. Kim and Sandy’s marriage was witnessed by the couple’s family and friends including many well known Dundee personalities as well as Sabrina Washington, the lead singer from the sensational girl band Mis-Teeq. The ambience of the day was captured on the hotel’s roof terrace, where the wedding party had their photographs taken while being treated to the most amazing sunset. Using clever lighting techniques, I was able to freeze this moment, catching mother nature at her most impressive. My assistant and I had a big surprise up our sleeves for the new Mr & Mrs Webster. We organised a steel wool fire display for the newlyweds, a prop that creates a huge fire circle, helping to create the most spectacular wedding photographs.
The extra special touches continued throughout the day. There was an 11 layer cake which was cut by a sword, a sabarage ceremony with a bottle of champagne , a stunning dance floor light show had everyone grooving, a photo booth capturing all the guest’s antics and a chocolate fountain had everyone queuing up for more.
All these small but important details made an already momentous day, one to remember. While weddings at the Old Course Hotel will always be beautiful, it’s the extra added details that will make your wedding stand out from the crowd. If you want to create memories that you’ll treasure forever, take Kim and Sandy’s lead and make sure your special day truly reflects your unique style and personality.
